Get to know our esteemed Advisory Counsel:

  • CHRISTINE YOUNG, Training Director

Hi! My name is Christine Young. I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). I started training horses over 20 years ago and expanded into working with dogs. I now specialize working with puppies! My best buddy & inspiration is a 7-year-old Mini-Aussie named Pekoe who works alongside me everyday to help socialize young dogs.

As a mentor and team player, I thrive working with our volunteer trainers. Each brings unique talents to the table. The different skill sets and perspectives broadens our horizons and together we develop new ideas and approaches for every project we invest in.

    Credentials:

    Training director (2022-current) for Preston's Planet Foundation — https://www.prestonsplanet.org/

Veteran Trainer (2016-current) at the biannual Wild Blue Dog Camp in Lake Tahoe, helping raise money for the only not-for-profit training and playtime camp that funds canine cancer treatment and research — https://www.wildbluedogs.org/

Lead Trainer (2016-2020) at Dog Dayz of California Doggie Daycare, including volunteer work with rescue dogs waiting for a new home.

  • NICOLE ELLIS, Volunteer Trainer

Nicole is a celebrity dog trainer based in Los Angeles. She has trained everything from bears to tigers to leopards as well as household dogs and cats. Maggie, who started it all, was adopted from a city shelter and now appears in films and commercials, works at hospitals, nursing homes, and more alongside her brother Rossi Bear.

Nicole is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), American Kennel Club CGC evaluator, author of Working Like a Dog, APDT trainer, Rover.com celebrity dog trainer, and expert dog trainer on Amazon Prime’s The Pack.

Using positive reinforcement methods she has trained thousands of animals from basic behavior and puppy manners, to trick training, therapy work, and service dog training. She believes with love and positive reinforcement, we can train any dog.

Nicole, Maggie, and Rossi have spoken at many conferences including The Pet Summit, Varsity Tutors, Good Dog! graduation and more. As seen on such shows as Amazon Prime’s The Pack, The Today Show, ABC, NBC, Nightline, and more.

Nicole loves to travel, more than most, see new places, ride naughty ponies, and try to change the world with Maggie & Rossi at her feet.

Maggie is proud to share, she was Preston’s original and favorite girlfriend, as well as a founding canine in The Pawtastics!

  • KELLY KEEBLER, Volunteer Trainer

Hi! My name is Kelly Keebler and when I’m not playing or training with my puppy Border Collie, Pluto, you can find me at the rink playing ice hockey!

Since every dog is a unique individual, I am constantly studying our craft to find different techniques and solutions that will help you and your pup(s) communicate and understand each other. To better help you, here are some of the education opportunities that I’ve enjoyed:

Aggression in Dogs Master class, Michael Shikashio

Living and Learning With Animals, Dr. Susan Friedman

Attended conferences from amazing leaders in the behavior industry

Coached a variety of classes at the biannual Wild Blue Dog Camp in Lake Tahoe to help raise money for canine cancer research

Worked at multiple daycares teaching facility staff about body language and safe ways to manage playgroups.

Volunteered at multiple Humane Societies across the country providing enrichment and training foundation exercises.

Competed in Rally with my Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Together we achieved a Rally Advanced Title.

Chair of the Education Committee for the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC)

    I have earned national certifications:

    – Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), an independent council that works to maintain high-proficiency standards in the dog training industry.
    – Karen Pryor Academy – Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP)
    – Animal Behavior College – Certified Dog Obedience Trainer (ABCDT)

There is no “one size fits all” training plan that can be applied to all dogs and their families. I will be able to give you a variety of tools for your training toolbox to find what works best for your lifestyle. Often by changing the environment surrounding our dogs’ unwanted behaviors, we can provide alternate options that will keep everyone happy.

She received her DVM degree from Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of all dogs. She strives to provide cutting edge information for owners, through her blogs, podcast interviews, and on a variety of social media platforms. • ANA HSU, MD.

I’m excited to be a part of The Preston’s Planet Foundation because it emphasizes the importance of the bond between children and animals. As a physician, I am focused on the well-being of adults and children. Having both children and pets, I can clearly see the importance of this relationship. It is my firm belief that animals better our overall emotional and physical well-being.

  • EVE BRANDSTEIN

    Bio coming soon.

  • FLAVIA COLGAN

    Bio coming soon.

  • VICTORIA RHODES

I’ve always loved dogs, but when I finally decided to become a dog parent I never dreamed how radically my life would change. My dogs changed every aspect of my life and the way I see the world, and always for the better.

Asta and Willie are my inspiration for founding Wild Blue Dogs, my way of giving back just a tiny portion of the love I’ve received. If two little Welsh Terriers can create such profound change, creating a legacy worthy of them became my mission.

When Willie was 11 he was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma (bladder cancer), a cancer that affects people too. I was devastated but terriers never give up and neither do their owners. A three to six month prognosis turned into 3 years of life-real, high quality, play in the sunshine LIFE. My dog had the heart of a lion and the extra time we had was priceless.

After years of volunteering for wonderful nonprofits including Welsh Terrier Club of Southern California, Boys & Girls Club, Child Guidance Guild (now Whole Child), and pro-bono tutoring, I saw a need close to my heart that needed to be met and Wild Blue Dogs was born.

At Wild Blue Dogs we are committed to finding improved treatment, new cures through research and taking back some of the time cancer has stolen from all of us. Wild Blue Dogs is the only charity that will fully fund cancer treatment for those who have exhausted their financial options and our primary fundraiser, Wild Blue Dog Camp ( a week long vacation for all activities canine!) is the only nonprofit Dog Camp in the country.
